Scott Thomas Fischer
A decade ago, I co-founded the energy efficiency consultancy Ciel Power LLC. As its Managing Member, I work closely with local environmental groups, elected officials, and environmental science and sustainability leaders to develop and promote community partnerships designed to increase energy efficiency awareness. I’m proud to say that Ciel Power LLC was awarded ENERGY STAR’s Century Club Award in 2016, as well as 2019 and 2020 Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Contractor of the Year recognition. This national honor is reserved for the top one percent of energy efficiency consultancies.
I’ve learned a tremendous amount while working in sustainability over the years, and I’m eager to pass those learnings along to others. In addition to having been featured in the New York Times, Realtor Magazine, Mashable, and on Yahoo News, as well as on ABC World News Tonight, I frequently participate in public speaking engagements and panel discussions. I’m so grateful for all of these opportunities, which allow me to advocate for environmental consciousness while supporting others in their sustainability efforts.
Additionally, I’ve reached people across the globe with my book, #HOME: 101 Ways To Improve Your Home’s Comfort & Energy Efficiency. This comprehensive guide provides tips and tools readers can use to start their own fulfilling journeys to energy efficiency.
As a firm believer in the importance of community engagement, I’m actively involved with several nonprofits. I recently stepped down from my past position as President of the Board of Directors of CivicStory, an organization that advances solutions-based news about citizens transforming communities to devote more time to this project. CivicStory is the lead partner and fiduciary of the New Jersey Sustainability Reporting Hub project, which draws attention to the role robust multimedia reporting can play in restoring our ecosystems.
I’m also an active member of the New York City Fair Trade Coalition, a grassroots organization that promotes fair trade businesses and retailers in New York City and educates consumers on the importance of fair trade.
You can find me on Twitter and Instagram.
Last but by no means least, I’m a husband and father. These roles underscore the importance of the work we’re doing, and galvanize my commitment to making the planet a better place for my family, future generations, and for all of the earth’s inhabitants.
